Graduate Minor

The Rural Studies Program offers a graduate minor in Rural Studies. No other university in the United States offers a graduate degree in Rural Studies. Currently offered through campus and field-based experiential education, the graduate minor in Rural Studies is designed to prepare students with the skills and competencies needed to understand economic, social, political and cultural dynamics of rural places.

Students are required to take RS 512 - Introduction to Rural Studies and RS 513 - Contemporary Rural Issues. In addition, students must take a relevant experiential course as well as choosing from a variety of on-campus elective courses. More details are available at here.
